Alton “Doc” Coleman is a U.S. Navy veteran who served as a Fleet Marine Force Corpsman with the 3rd Marine Division. In 2017 he joined the Marine Corps League and today serves as the Jr. Past Commandant of Unicoi Detachment 783 and the Jr. Vice Commandant for the MCL's Department of Georgia.
His wife Tammy, a retired high school math teacher of 30 years, serves as Detachment 783's Adjutant and Paymaster. Through their involvement with veteran service organizations, they have witnessed the difficulties some organizations face with fundraising.
